Commonwealth Railways N101

N101 is a former Commonwealth Railways M15B. The cab is typical of the CR "Box" style.

I can only assume that the car was transferred to Port Lincoln, South Australia, from Port Augusta some time in the early 1980's. She was sold to a local collector in Port Lincoln who eventually sold her, and M116, to me in 1993.

The car was fitted with an exhaust and an electric start. Magneto Ignition.

One of my first actions was to remove the cab. My second was to get her running, and take her for a spin at Bruce, on the remaining part of the Peterborough to Quorn Railway.

I sold her on to someone new to the hobby who was wanting to buy an M15.

N101 in better days, both for her and the EP Photo by Greg Obrien near Yaninee May 1985. Perhaps her last year of service as most cars were pulled by mid 1986.

The EP closed in Mid 2019, so a great opportunity to run speeders currently exist.
